NEW DELHI: Harry Kane showcased his exceptional skills in a thrilling "der Klassiker" encounter, scoring a remarkable hat trick as Bayern Munich routed Borussia Dortmund 4-0 in an electrifying Bundesliga showdown on Saturday.

Bayern's resounding triumph over their age-old rivals marked their tenth consecutive league victory against Borussia Dortmund. The win not only dealt Dortmund their first Bundesliga defeat of the season but also dispelled any concerns of a form slump following Bayern's unexpected exit from the German Cup earlier in the week.

In recent matchups, Bayern have dominated Borussia Dortmund, winning their last ten league encounters by an impressive aggregate score of 33-11. This latest triumph solidified Bayern's status as the 11-time defending champions of the Bundesliga, placing them five points ahead of Dortmund after ten rounds. They now stand just two points behind Bayer Leverkusen, the early-season league leaders, who maintained their top spot with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Hoffenheim.

Bayern Munich wasted no time in asserting their dominance, as Dayot Upamecano rose to head in Leroy Sané's corner in the fourth minute. Sané continued his stellar performance by setting up Harry Kane for a second goal, expertly executed during a counterattack just five minutes later.

As the second half commenced, Jamal Musiala had a golden opportunity to further extend Bayern's lead to 3-0, yet his shot found the safe hands of goalkeeper Gregor Kobel. Dortmund, determined to regain control, displayed greater urgency, with Marco Reus coming close to scoring, only to be thwarted by Bayern's formidable goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer. Neuer, making just his third appearance of the season following recovery from a broken leg, was resolute in the face of Dortmund's attempts.

Bayern continued to pose a significant threat, forcing Kobel to make two crucial saves to keep Dortmund in the match. However, it was Harry Kane who ultimately sealed the victory for Bayern in the 72nd minute, showcasing his exceptional scoring prowess with his 14th goal of the season. Kane completed his sensational hat trick in stoppage time, leaving no doubt about his impact on the game.

Speaking of Kane's contributions, Neuer expressed his appreciation, stating, "It's simply experience and all the processes and actions that he's been through in his career. Of course, he didn't leave that in England but brought it to the Bundesliga. We're so happy to have him in our team."
