Despite taking an early lead through Jamal Musiala's strike in the 13th minute, Bayern's hopes were dashed as Bochum staged a remarkable turnaround before halftime. Takuma Asano and Keven Schlotterbeck found the net for the hosts, increasing the pressure on Bayern's beleaguered coach, Thomas Tuchel.

The match was marred by interruptions, as fans protested against a proposed foreign investment in the Bundesliga by throwing tennis balls onto the pitch.

Bochum sealed their victory with an 85th-minute penalty converted by Kevin Stoeger, following Dayot Upamecano's dismissal for elbowing an opponent in the box. Harry Kane pulled one back with a stoppage-time tap-in, notching his 25th league goal.

With this defeat, Bayern sits in second place with 50 points, while Bochum climbed to 11th with 25 points.
