The All India Football Federation gave a green signal to national captain Baichung Bhutia's proposal to set up a coaching academy in Barasat stadium.
KOLKATA: The All India Football Federation (AIFF) on Thursday gave a green signal to national captain Baichung Bhutia's proposal to set up a coaching academy in Barasat stadium.
Speaking to reporters at the Mohammedan Sporting club, AIFF President Priya Ranjan Das Munshi said, "Baichung's proposal of setting up an academy in Barasat Stadium is very good.

If he needs any financial help, AIFF is ready to help."
According to reports, Baichung Bhutia Foundation, a non-profitable organisation has given a proposal to the district officials of North 24 Parganas, where Barasat Stadium is located, to renovate and come up with an international standard sport complex, giving priority to football.
As per the proposal, the international complex should also have a swimming and gymnasium arena. The proposal also sought to improve the ground and drainage system of the stadium.
The details, however, are yet to be chalked out.
