KOLKATA:
Mohammedan Sporting Club
will now aim to make their entry into the
Indian Super League (
ISL
) in a couple of years' time, believes club's investor Bunkerhill's co-founder and managing director Kanishk Sheel.
MSC won the CFL title after a 40-year wait and finished runners-up in the
Durand Cup
and the inaugural Futsal Club Championship.
"I can promise that our goal is to enter the ISL as soon as possible. And we don't just want to participate in the ISL; we want to see our club Mohammedan SC win the ISL title within the next five years," said Sheel.
"Mohammedan SC's fan base is not just limited to India, but is spread across the world. Hence, we want to represent India at the continental level, be it in the AFC Champions League or the AFC Cup. We'll do whatever it takes to reach there."
The club also roped in Indian cricket star Irfan Pathan as their brand ambassador last year.
