"The embassy got in the touch with the state administration today and the same has been communicated to David. Now if everything goes well, the six UK nationals with us should be starting their journey from here to Amritsar on Wednesday," Chattoo said on Saturday.
Earlier, the British High Commission was set to seek permission from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to ensure their transit to Amritsar.
The British government has decided to organise special charter flights for airlifting its citizens stranded in India. But that hasn't helped Robertson, Kym, son Mason, along with English midfielder Kallum Higginbotham and members of the support staff, James Lindsay and Jonathan Craig so far as they all have been stuck in Srinagar due to the nationwide lockdown since a long time.
The I-League was called off despite matches remaining due to the COVID-19 pandemic with
Mohun Bagan, who had bagged the title with four rounds to spare, declared champions.
Robertson has been keen to get back home to his mother Muriel in Aberdeen who is undergoing chemotherapy.
"It should take them 8-10 hours to reach Jammu from Srinagar by road, if the weather is fine. From Jammu another four hours roughly to reach Amritsar," informed Chattoo who has been taking care of them and his four African players all this while at his hotel in Srinagar.
Besides the UK nationals, skipper Loveday Enyinnaya, Aaron Katebe, Bazie Armand and Gnohere Krizo are also stuck. "They will have to wait for the lockdown to get over and things to get better I think, at this point," Chattoo said.
Under Robertson, Real Kashmir finished fourth this season with 22 points from 15 matches.
