CCFC, who made five changes to their starting XI, dominated the game from the outset. They created their first chance in the fourth minute when

Mohamed Iqbal

was played onto goal. However, Indian Arrows custodian

Syed Hussain Bukhari

came off his line to affect a save.

The former I-League champions kept on piling the pressure on their opponents by maintaining possession. In the 31st minute, CCFC came close again to open the scoring as Jishnu's deflected cross fell to an unmarked Suhail Pasha. But the young forward made a mess of it and hit it wide.

With Arrows happy to sit back and defend, CCFC went out all guns blazing in the second half. Pasha got another chance to put his name on the scoresheet when he directed a corner towards goal with his head but Bukhari intervened again as he tipped the ball over the crosspiece.

CCFC finally broke the deadlock in the 63rd minute. Iqbal's corner was met by Elvedin Skrijelj at the far post, and the Serbian midfielder scored with a powerful header.

CCFC could have doubled their lead a couple of minutes later when Bukhari failed to collect Rajesh's cleanly but Arrows defence was alert enough to avert the danger. In the end though CCFC were not complaining as they notched up their second win of the campaign.
