End of Luc Nilis' career (September 2000): One of the most prolific strikers in Europe then, Belgian Luc Nilis was the top-scorer for PSV Eindhoven. Unfortunately, Nilis career ended prematurely after suffering a broken leg in a game for Aston Villa against Ipswich Town. A collision with Ipswich goalkeeper Richard Wright left the striker with a right calf that was broken in two places. That challenge ended then 33-year-old Belgian's career. (Getty Images)
