With FIFA U-17 World Cup in the city, Kolkata upgrades all kind of infrastructure to support the event. As instructed by FIFA, the West Bengal health department has set up a Critical Care Unit or CCU (3 bedded) at

Salt Lake Stadium
). The unit will be inaugurated on Friday.
OSD to health department Harekrishna Chanda said, not just the CCU, but all other medical facilities will be arranged till the World Cup ends. The FIFA officials met the health department officers on Thursday.
Yuba Bharati Krirangan will host the first match on Sunday. So the government wants to make sure that everything is in place. Most of the hospitals of the city have been asked to be ready for anytime. The local medical officer to FIFA

said, "we have separate systems ready for the players, VIPs and the audiences." A medical team of eight members of FIFA are already in the city.
Chowdhury added, 'FIFA will leave no stone unturned to make sure the event is a success.' According to him, if the temperature crosses 32 degree Celsius, players will get two minutes cooling break. FIFA volunteers with 'Medical Emergency Kit' will be on alert during matches.
Medical kiosk for the audience will also be ready in eight places of the stadium. Government ambulances will also be ready within 20 minute distance to the stadium.
