Valorant has a language that appears to be a secret code at times. For any beginner or even the advanced combatants that want to spruce up their knowledge; these are some terms every player should possess within their dictionary!
A Guide to Valorant Terms That Can Change Your Game
Ace: The ultimate ego boost! When a single player in the winning team takes down the whole enemy squad with at least one kill per enemy, it is an Ace. It is like hitting but it has that much more glory attached to it. Pro-tip: If an enemy Sage has used her Ultimate, the round can still be counted as an Ace even if she revived a few players and you took all five enemies down.
Team Ace: More the merrier! This is what we call when everyone in your team takes an enemy down. The ultimate teamwork, where all contribute to their team victory. In 5v5, that means each gets a kill. Group hug with bullets.
Clutch: The last remaining player, and everything hangs on you. It is the most dramatic scenario in Valorant: 1 vs.5, and it's up to you to save the day. Pulling off a clutch win feels like being the hero of a movie with a nice little cinematic pause before you seal the deal.
Flawless: You win the round with your squad alive. This one is called the "perfect" round, something that all teams dream of, but it is so rare that it feels like getting to see a unicorn in the wild.
Armory: This is the "shop" segment of the game where you gear up-buys weapons, shields, and abilities for the next round. Nothing feels better than buying that shiny new Phantom or Vandal and, of course, your trusty smokes and flashes.
Aggro: Aggressive, that's what we are going to be-now. Attracting attention to themselves is what most people know about aggression and aggression tactics. This is usually distraction enough for the enemy to be baited into a more manageable play for his side. As if you barged into the room hollering "Hey, look at me!", and all the eyes turned to you while your teammates got the actual work done.
Counterstrafe: A nice trick that will help you significantly in aiming; the first shot is the most accurate walking through and shooting. But if you are just running out like a madman, you are certainly going to miss that shot while shooting. Counter-strafing is when you stop your movement just prior to shooting so that you get your first bullet hits where it is actually supposed to. It's the way you break your car before stopping on a freeway.
Cubby: Small tight corner hiding for you to surprise the enemy. These little slabs are scattered all across the maps and are perfect for an ambush or just taking a breather waiting for some poor perch-walking foe to walk by.
These terms in a fast-paced world like Valorant can help you communicate with your teammates and gain a strategic upper hand. So, whether you are calling for a Team Ace or making that heroic clutch play-these terms are your ticket to becoming a Valorant pro!
