WWE 2K26 is on the horizon, and 2K Games has unveiled major details about the next instalment in the wrestling franchise. Essentially, the cover star is confirmed to be CM Punk, and the Showcase mode is also going to be based on the iconic wrestler.
The official release date for the title was also recently announced, and it is scheduled to arrive on March 13, which is a few weeks before WrestleMania. WWE 2K26 is going to be available for pre-order, and you can get exclusive bonuses by pre-ordering your preferred edition.

WWE 2K26 release date and gameplay trailer
As already confirmed above, WWE 2K26 is going to be released on March 13, 2026. CM Punk is going to be the cover star, and all of these details were unveiled at the Royal Rumble kickoff event.
Coming to the gameplay trailer, it is expected to be showcased at the Royale Rumble, which is all set to take place on January 31, 2026. The centerpiece of WWE 2K26 will be the Showcase mode, and it will highlight CM Punk's legendary career.
The showcase will be narrated by CM Punk himself and feature three sections of matches. The first section will allow you to relive some of Punk's best matches throughout his WWE career.
There are also "What If?" matches that look at what could have been had Punk not left the company in 2014. Finally, you will be able to try out the various fantasy matches, and they will feature Punk taking on opponents that he never was able to face.
WWE 2K26 platform and special editions
WWE 2K26 is going to be playable on PS5, Xbox Series S/X, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. The developers have not specified a release on the older-gen consoles, and further details have to be awaited regarding the same.
Coming to the editions, the game is being released in multiple editions, including the popular Attitude Era Edition and King of Kings Edition, catering to fans nostalgic for WWE's golden era.
WWE 2K26 features and match types
The Island mode is reportedly coming back with a new storyline where Roman Reigns has been knocked off the top, and three factions fight for control of the Island of Relevancy.
Additionally, three match types are returning (Inferno match, I Quit matches, and 3 Stages of Hell) after being in past editions of the game. There is also a new match type in WWE 2K26 in the form of the Dumpster Match.
