South of Midnight is knocking at the door. The Xbox Developer Direct in January stated that Compulsion's upcoming game will be released in April 2025. But that’s not the only news regarding this highly ambitious title. Compulsion has also announced the star-studded list of all the voice actors behind the game.
As we follow Hazel into the depths of a surreal Deep South-inspired landscape, South of Midnight's incredibly slick magic-infused combat, breathtaking sense of place, and evocative hand-drawn visual design have swiftly earned it a spot as one of the most anticipated upcoming games for 2025.

Southern folklore is the main focus of South of Midnight, where the main character, Hazel Flood, encounters amazing mythological creatures while exploring steep slopes, hollers, and swamps. Hazel learns she is a weaver after a cyclone destroys her house, making her especially suited to handle this magical realm and its inhabitants.
As
she progresses through the game, Hazel's magical power set grows, providing her with the means to overcome the range of platforming and fighting obstacles she faces. South of Midnight is releasing on April 8, 2025 on PC and Xbox Series X. Both the Standard and Premium editions are available for pre-order on Steam and the Microsoft store. The Premium edition, which grants five days of early access to the game, costs $49.99, while the Standard edition costs $39.99.
