With Genshin Impact 5.7 Phase 2 banners running from July 8 to 30, 2025, players are once again caught in the dilemma, pulling for the fearsome Pyro Archon Mavuika or the niche. Both 5-stars come back on a double rerun banner accompanied by a fire lineup of 4-stars like Iansan, Xiangling, and Yaoyao. If you’re hoarding Primogems, picking smart is essential. Here’s a closer look at who’s worthy of your wish.
Mavuika: A Powerhouse with Versatility
Mavuika is not merely a hard-hitting Pyro claymore wielder, she is the Pyro Archon. Her on-field damage output is massive, thanks to the “Fighting Spirit” mechanic and her ability to deal damage aligned with Night Soul. Her Elemental Burst provides crushing Pyro AoE, and she flourishes as a team carry when sufficiently supported.
She slots best in Night Soul comps, which can be a bit more niche to build, but even beyond that, her pure damage output and flashy kit make her worth the investment. F2P players win as well. Mavuika plays great with readily available weapons and doesn’t necessarily require premium swords to dazzle.
If you want a top-tier DPS that will still be good in future content, Mavuika is the way to go.
Emilie: Burning Specialist with Specific Needs
Emilie, the 5-star Dendro polearm user, is a more situational choice. She performs well off-field in Burning teams, and her skillset rewards players who like to play reaction-heavy comps. Beyond that, her damage drops off steeply, and she has no utility.
The excellent news! Emilie is cost-effective, doesn’t require top-tier equipment, and pairs excellently with characters like Xiangling and Bennett. To really optimize her, you’ll need to craft a whole team around setting off Burning regularly—which may not be everyone’s style.
Fantastic if you’re heavy on the Dendro-Pyro synergies, but less than optimal for more general content.
What’s with the 4-star lineup?
And even if you’re not rooting for the 5-stars, this banner’s 4-stars loaded with value. Iansan is a great support with Constellations bringing real utility. Xiangling is still a meta staple, and Yaoyao provides consistent healing for Dendro teams. This renders the Phase 2 banner worthwhile even for players who aren’t specifically aiming for Emilie or Mavuika.
When Emilie has her fans, Mavuika provides more value to a wider audience. Her strength, versatility and enjoyable mechanics make her a valuable asset to most lineups. Unless you’re assembling a devoted Burning squad, Mavuika is the more secure and more powerful pull in Genshin Impact Variation 5.7 Phase 2.
