Marvel Rivals has been a massive hit upon release with over 40 million players joining the game since release. To bolster the game’s position indefinitely in the gaming world, NetEase has now promised a decade long support and content for this beloved franchise. This fact is further validated by dataminers and leakers who have discovered 22 new heroes in the work bench, and might make a debut in the coming months. The fans have also pieced together a puzzle implying a Hellfire Gala Theme for the upcoming Season 2.
Let’s take a look at all these exciting news in detail in today’s Marvel Rivals News Roundup.

Future of Marvel Rivals: 10 years of support confirmed

NetEase Games has officially confirmed 10 years of support for Marvel Rivals in their Q4 earnings call. They plan to release a new hero every 45 days or eight new heroes every year. This means the current roster of 37 heroes could increase to a whopping 117 heroes. These new heroes will of course be accompanied by new maps, new seasonal events, and a ton of new skins.
Marvel Universe in itself is a massive franchise with multiple story-lines spanning numerous heroes and characters. There is no shortage of content to build upon for NetEase Games. They are already working on several X-men characters that could make their debut in the coming seasons.

When is Marvel Rivals Season 2 releasing?

While no official announcement has been made by NetEase Games for Marvel Rivals Season 2, an educated guess can be made based on the timeline of Season 1. Marvel Rivals Season 1 released on 10th January, 2025 and is divided into two parts. The first half lasted for about 1.5 months, with the entire season spanning three months. Based on this, Marvel Rivals Season 2 could be released on April 11, 2025.

What is the theme for Marvel Rivals Season 2?

Every season of Marvel Rivals is associated with a specific theme and storyline. In the current Season 1 Gallery Card, there’s a message stating “Now if you’ll excuse me, Doom has a gala to attend.” This subtle hint alongside evidence from data miners in the form of skins, hints at the next Season being Hellfire Gala.
The Hellfire Gala is an iconic X-Men event and could potentially see the release of heroes from the X-Men first class, namely, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Rogue, and Laura Kinney.
