Marvel Rivals bug has surfaced where the new
Loki’s Presidential Attire skin is causing OBS to crash. Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) is a popular video broadcasting software used to stream videos on Twitch and YouTube. Popular streamer, Shroud experienced this bug for the first time on his live stream, where his stream seemed to be interrupted every time the MVP animation of the new Loki skin played out.
The Presidential Attire Loki Skin in Marvel Rivals was released on 14 March, 2025 and is currently available in the in-game store. It's part of the Presidential Attire Bundle that contains a ‘V for Victory’ emote, ‘Presidential Attire’ nameplate, ‘Presidential Attire’ spray, and ‘Crooked Candidate’ MVP Animation. The entire bundle costs 1600 units, while the skin alone costs 1400 units.
New Marvel Rivals bug causing OBS crashes
The new Loki Presidential Attire bundle consists of a MVP screen called ‘Crooked Candidate'; that apparently causes OBS to crash when the animation plays out. This is interrupting live streams of popular personalities on Twitch and YouTube.
This bug was first experienced in a live stream of the popular stream and ex-Counter Strike pro player, Shroud, who tried using the skin in Marvel Rivals. His stream went black every time the MVP animation played out. Shroud then extensively tested if it was the animation itself that caused the crash, and after multiple instances of the same crash, it was concluded that it was the MVP animation of the Loki Presidential Attire bundle that’s causing OBS to crash. The Marvel Rivals game, however, did not crash and only the broadcasting software OBS was affected.
This clip of Shroud's stream cutting off was shared by one of Shroud’s fan pages on X, which has garnered over 1.6 million views in less than 24 hours.
Marvel Rivals OBS crash bug: Causes and possible fixes explored
While there has been no official statement or fixes from NetEase Games, players are speculating that
OBS’s DMCA protection system is behind this weird bug. However, there’s no solid evidence for the same.
The issue hasn’t been addressed by NetEase Games and as such, there is
no fix to the bug. In the meantime, streamers and content creators of Marvel Rivals are advised not to equip the new Loki Presidential Attire skin in the game, during their live streams of recordings. For the majority of the player base who doesn’t use OBS to stream or record, this bug doesn’t affect them in any way.
