Marvel Rivals has announced several buffs and nerfs to Human Torch, Iron Man and Cloak & Dagger, which are scheduled to be implemented in the March 13 update. This is a follow up to the earlier balance adjustments made in the season, which saw a surge in the pick rates of several new heroes. NetEase Games has noticed a variety of strategies being used by the player base from a rush composition that’s centered around Vanguards and Duelists, to a 3-1-2 composition or the classic 2-2-2 composition. This diversity of team compositions and strategies retains a healthy competitive integrity of a game.

Marvel Rivals March 13 update focuses on balancing three heroes, the newest addition to the Fantastic Four team, Human Torch, the original flyer duelist, Iron Man, and the duality duo strategist Cloak & Dagger. With a new double-flyers strategy incorporating Human Torch, Storm, or Iron Man have become quite popular, this update solidifies the viability of using this strategy in competitive matches.

New meta in Marvel Rivals after March 13 update


Prior balance changes in Marvel Rivals Season 1.5 has proved viability of two-flyer duelist combo in ladder matches, especially with the addition of Human Torch. With the buffs in the March 13 update, both Human Torch and Iron Man is going to be extremely powerful in all types of team compositions. As such, we can expect to see the continuation of two-flyer duelist combo going forward. Additionally, Cloak & Dagger will see a solid pick rate due to her healing buff and can potentially replace Rocket Racoon in the upcoming meta.
