With some intriguing projects in the works that should provide us with more stealthy goodness in the future, we have a lot of Assassin's Creed games to look forward to. There is still more to come, even after the release of the eagerly awaited installment of the series, Assassin's Creed Shadows, which also marked the opening of the Animus Hub.
A number of upcoming Ubisoft games have been confirmed that will expand the Assassin's Creed series in new ways, ranging from a mobile-only experience to another major mainline entry that appears to deliver some witchy vibes.
Upcoming Assassin’s Creed games
With a number of noteworthy releases in recent years, including Assassin's Creed Mirage in 2023, which gave us a more intensely focused experience as Basim prior to the events of Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and the previously mentioned adventure set in Feudal Japan, fans of AC have had a great time.
However, you've come to the correct spot if you're searching for a summary of every new game in the series that is still in the works. Continue reading below as we walk you through every Assassin's Creed game that is either rumored or currently in development:
1. Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe (Confirmed)
Platform: TBA
Release Date TBA
Codename Hexe for Assassin's Creed is being marketed as
"a very different type of Assassin's Creed game." Although there aren't many details available, we do know that Clint Hocking, the former creative director of Watch Dogs Legion, will be overseeing production and that Ubisoft Montreal, the developer of Assassin's Creed Valhalla, is working on it.
According to the game's codename and the first teaser trailer, Assassin's Creed Hexe will take place in 16th-century Europe during the notorious witch trials that swept the continent. In all honesty, we're looking for a little more Assassin's Creed experimentation, but Codename Hexe might be a strange, subversive open world role-playing game.
2. Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade (Confirmed)
Platform: Android, iOS
Release Date: 2025
The first fully open world Assassin's Creed game for mobile devices is expected to be Assassin's Creed Jade. Although the game is completely optimized for touch controls, Ubisoft has stated that it is attempting to create an authentic Assassin's Creed experience. Yes, you will be about to parkour across the Great Wall in Assassin's Creed Jade, which takes place in China in the year 215 BCE.
Prior to its official title being confirmed at GamesCom 2023 as simply Assassin's Creed Jade, it was first revealed as Codename Jade. It will also be the first game in the series to allow you to create your own assassin from scratch, which is a nice touch. Jade is supposed to launch after Shadows, but since Shadows has been rescheduled for March and we haven't heard much about Jade since its closed beta, it's unclear where it will end up this year.
3. Assassin’s Creed Invictus (Confirmed)
Platform: TBA
Release Date: TBA
Ubisoft states that it is
"investigating how we will bring back standalone multiplayer experiences into the Assassin's Creed universe." Since co-op first appeared in Assassin's Creed Unity eight years ago, and since the mode first appeared in AC4: Black Flag nine years ago, Assassin's Creed multiplayer has been at the top of wish lists for years.
The codename is
'Assassin's Creed Invictus,' as confirmed by franchise boss Marc-Alexis Coté. However, we do know that this stand-alone Assassin's Creed multiplayer game will launch as part of the Assassin's Creed Infinity Hub.
4. Assassin’s Creed Netflix (Confirmed)
Platform: Android, iOS
Release Date: TBA
Netflix and Ubisoft have signed a fairly extensive partnership agreement. Three mobile games are being developed for Netflix's video game platform, and a Netflix Assassin's Creed series is currently in development, led by showrunner Jed Stuart, who wrote the scripts for classic action films like Die Hard and The Fugitive.
In addition to the Assassin's Creed universe, there will be games based on the Valiant Hearts and Mighty Quest universes in the future. When the Assassin's Creed Netflix game launches, it will only be accessible on mobile devices for Netflix members worldwide. The game is currently in the early stages of development. Our curiosity is still aroused even though no additional information was disclosed or has been since 2022.
5. Assassin’s Creed Codename Raid (Rumored)
Platform: TBA
Release Date: TBA
According to reports, Raid is another multiplayer game that emphasizes PvE cooperation over player-on-player combat. According to reports, Ubisoft Chengdu is the developer of this free-to-play game that lets four players work together as assassins across different franchise entries.
6. Assassin’s Creed Codename Echoes (Rumored)
Platform: TBA
Release Date: TBA
According to reports, Ubisoft Annecy, a French company, is working on the third multiplayer game of this long-hailed series. Fans will have to wait and see what the studio decides to do with this game, as well as what kind of progression, monetization, and other things are planned.
7. Assassin’s Creed Codename Stardust (Rumored)
Platform: TBA
Release Date: TBA
About this series entry, not much is known at this time. Although it's unclear which entry it will be based on, reports claim it's another remake. It might be the first Assassin's Creed or even the more well-known follow-up, AC2. Fans will have to wait to find out.
8. Assassin’s Creed Codename Nebula (Rumored)
Platform: TBA
Release Date: TBA
Codenamed Nebula, another obscure project under development, offers the most original concept of any AC entry to date. The Aztec Empire, India, and the Mediterranean are said to be the three locations where it will allegedly take place. Additionally, it appears to be led by Ubisoft Sofia.
