It would be a great idea to make an iron farm, as it provides you with a steady supply of iron without much effort. To make one, you simply need a villager, a zombie, and iron golems. If you are someone looking for an easy way to gather iron, here is a detailed guide on making an Iron farm in Minecraft.

Steps of Making an Iron Farm for Beginners in Minecraft

Step 1: List of Materials
Before we start building the farm, we need the following list of resources to be collected:

  1. 3 Villagers
  2. 1 Zombie
  3. 3 Beds
  4. 3 workstations (any profession block like a composter or smithing table)
  5. 1 Name Tag (to prevent the zombie from despawning)
  6. 1 Name Tag Anvil (to rename the zombie)
  7. Glass or solid blocks (for structure)
  8. Water Buckets
  9. Lava Bucket
  10. Hopper
  11. Chest
  12. Signs
Step 2: Creating the Structure
  1. Find a flat area and build a 5x5 platform using solid blocks.
  2. Place three beds in the middle of the platform.
  3. Surround the platform with glass or walls to trap the villagers.
  4. Set three workstations in front of each villager to keep them employed.
  5. Make sure the villagers have access to beds and workstations to keep them happy.
Step 3: Adding a Zombie

  1. Build a small area above the villagers’ chamber to trap a zombie.
  2. Use a name tag to rename the zombie so it does not disappear.
  3. Make sure the zombie is close enough to scare the villagers but not touch them.
  4. The scared villagers will start spawning iron golems.
Step 4: Creating a Killing Mechanism
  1. Build a 7x7 platform a few blocks above the villagers.
  2. Place water on all sides so that the iron golems get pushed into the center.
  3. In the center, place signs to stop the water flow and add a lava source block.
  4. Below the lava, place a hopper connected to a chest to collect the iron ingots.
Step 5: Testing the Iron Farm
Once you set up everything, it’s time to test the work, for which you have to wait for the iron golems to spawn. When the iron golems spawn, they will be drawn to the lava and drop iron ingots into the chest. Now, you have a steady iron supply without mining! This simple iron farm will now help you get iron efficiently in Minecraft.
