Rockstar Games is confronting increasing annoyance from fans following a post about the newly updated version of Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online for PC. The update offers technical enhancements and broader access, yet the online reaction has been very negative, with the community complaining about not receiving news on GTA 6.

GTA V promo sparks outrage as fans demand GTA 6 news

On 15th April, Rockstar posted a promotional update on GTA V Enhanced, a free upgrade to current PC players, now accessible on PC Game Pass as well. The update showcased features such as ray tracing, global illumination, and AMD FSR and NVIDIA DLSS support. But the comment sections on social media blew up with frustration, attesting to the community's restlessness for any GTA 6 update.
One fan replied, “Another GTA 5 trailer the same year GTA 6 releases as well.”

Another said bluntly, “Nobody cares anymore. Just drop GTA 6 you’ve been milking GTA 5 for over a decade now.”

Others echoed the sentiment with: “WHERE IS TRAILER 2 IT’S BEEN ALMOST 500 DAYS,” and “Don’t tweet again unless it’s GTA 6 news.”

Some were sarcastic, such as: "Oh look, another tweet about a 12-year-old game."
The response serves to make it clear that fans are no longer satisfied with incremental releases for GTA V, a game that originally launched way back in 2013. The frustration is compounded by the fact that Rockstar has been effectively silent since releasing GTA 6's first trailer in December 2023.

GTA V Enhanced includes PC features, but fans aren't buying it

In spite of the backlash from fans, GTA V Enhanced does bring substantial upgrades to PC players. Features from the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S editions have now been brought to PC, such as ray traced shadows and reflections, Career Progress tracking in GTA Online, and the addition of Hao's Special Works and GTA+.
The update also features the Career Builder for fresh players and works to enhance general performance. Nevertheless, for the long-time enthusiasts, these updates are a far cry from what they actually desire, GTA 6 news.
As Rockstar continues to refine and add to GTA V, patience among the community is growing thin. As anticipation grows and there is little word on GTA 6, even good-natured updates are being greeted with hostility. The fans have made themselves heard loud and clear: they crave the next installment, not the same old thing.
