Fortnite update roadmap: List of all updates in 2026

Epic Games has officially revealed the complete Fortnite update schedule for 2026. This was done through the Creator roadmap Trello page, and the same now gives the community details about the content patches, seasonal launches, and major events.
As a result of this roadmap, you now know when to expect new content and potential chapter changes throughout the year. In the section below, there is a list of all the major Fortnite updates that you will be able to see in 2026.

Fortnite 2026 update schedule

Here is the detailed Fortnite update schedule for the year 2026:

• v39.20: January 9
• v39.30: January 22
• v39.40: February 5
• v39.50: February 19
• v40.00 (C7S2): March 5
• v40.10: March 29
• v40.20: April 1
• v40.30: April 16
• v41.00 / C7S3 (potentially): April 30

Follow this, these are the expected dates of the future versions:

• May 14
• June 4
• June 18
• July 16
• July 30
• August 14
• September 3
• September 17
• October 1
• October 15
• October 29
• November 12
• November 28
• December 10

In between the updates, there will also be:

• Summer break: No updates between June 19 and July 15, 2026.
• Winter break: Following the December 10 update, development pauses for the holiday season

These breaks align with Epic Games' employee vacation periods and have been consistently scheduled in previous years.

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 prediction

In line with the aforementioned update schedule, you will be able to see the Chapter 7 Season 2 running between March 5 and April 29, 2026. The April 30 update will mark the end of the particular season, and it will introduce the annual Star Wars event coinciding with May the Fourth.

Fortnite October/November mini-season

Over the past few years, there has been a mini-season during October and November. Accordingly, another mini-season is expected between October 29 and November 28, 2026. Last year, we were able to see the Simpsons crossover in November 2025, and it was a clear representation of the developer’s commitment to the mini-season format.
The mini-season will also overlap with the Halloween/Fortnitemares celebrations. The same will feature horror-themed collaborations similar to previous years.

Fortnite Chapter 8 launch window

If the October mini-season prediction turns out to be true, you can expect Fortnite Chapter 8 to launch on November 28, 2026. Like every other major update, it will be introducing massive map changes, new mechanics, and a fresh Battle Pass to close out the year.
This will be followed by the final major update of 2026. It arrives on December 10 and introduces Winterfest content.
