NEW DELHI: The inaugural edition of the Women's Premier League which will be a five-team competition kicks off Saturday with the blockbuster clash between Gujarat Giants versus Mumbai Indians.

After The Hundred Women's Competition in England and the Women's Big Bash League in Australia, India's much-awaited women's T20 league is all set to take the women's game a notch higher.

A total of 22 matches, including the final on March 26 will be played during the course of the competition with Mumbai and Navi Mumbai in Maharashtra hosting all the games.

THE FORMAT

The five teams will be playing each other twice in the round-robin stage, making it 8 league games each for the franchises.

The team finishing at the top after the league stage will straightaway qualify for the final. The second and third placed teams in the table will then fight it out in the Eliminator for a spot in the final.

TIMINGS

Most of the matches will be in the evening, starting at 7:30 pm IST. On the day of double-headers, the afternoon matches will start at 3:30 pm IST.
