ICC should give equal weights to every series. India, England among those suffering now
As the World Test Championship (WTC) arrives at the halfway mark, poised at its most gripping phase, a critical error in its ranking system makes itself known. For its 2021-23 WTC cycle, the International Cricket Council accords 12 points to each match (with 12 points for a win, 6 for a tie, 4 for a draw, and 0 for a loss). Then, these points are converted into percentages on the basis of which teams are ranked. Seems sensible enough, right? Think again.
