Under 19 Cricket World Cup 2018: Live Cricket Score, India vs Australia, Final: India beat Australia to lift World Cup

13:25 (IST) Feb 03
India are World Champions, for a fourth time. They beat Australia by eight wickets to lift the Under-19 World Cup
2000, 2008, 2012 and now 2018. India pulled off a sensational eight-wicket win over Australia in the big final of the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup to become the only side in history to lift the coveted title for a record fourth time. A clinical bowling performance by India saw them restrict Australia to 216, a total that Prithvi Shaw and his men gunned down comfortably in the end to etch their name in history books.

The platform for the big win was laid by, first, the bowlers, who staged a terrific comeback to remove the last six Australian wickets for just 33 runs, and later by opener Manjot Kalra, who struck a 101-ball century to lead India to victory. Kalra got vital partnerships going with each batsman he batted with – 71 with Shaw, 60 with Shubman Gill and an unbeaten 89 with Harvik Desai and formed the fulcrum around which the chase revolved.

Hundred for Majot Kalra, in the final of a World Cup
13:11 (IST) Feb 03
India on the brink of World Cup glory
Just 17 needed now off 89 balls. Manjot Kalra just three away from a century.
12:40 (IST) Feb 03
Another hundle crossed, India cross 150. Just 67 more needed
12:26 (IST) Feb 03
Gill departs for 31, India in control
Param Uppal is ecstatic, gets Gill for his first score of under 50 in the tournament. Flighted delivery and the batsman dances down the track. Goes for the big swing but misses it altogether and is bowled. India 131/2, need another 87.
12:15 (IST) Feb 03
50 partnership up between Kalra and Gill. India 96 away from a fourth Under-19 World Cup title
12:02 (IST) Feb 03
Manjot Kalra brings up a sublime half-century...
And perhaps, the most crucial one of his young career.
11:56 (IST) Feb 03
100 comes up for India for the loss of one wicket in 15.5 overs
And what a way to bring it up. Shubman Gill plays a full-blooded cover drive. India scoring fluently and having no trouble whatsoever.
11:42 (IST) Feb 03
India lose Shaw after brisk start
Will Sutherland provides Australia with a much needed breakthrough. A good length delivery and Shaw plays down the wrong line. BOWLED HIM. India 71/1 in in 11.1 overs.
11:33 (IST) Feb 03
You look at Manjot Kalra and Prithvi Shaw and it's almost like watching Sachin and Yuvraj bat together. Uncanny similarlity in their shots
11:25 (IST) Feb 03
Two spanking cover drives from skipper Prithvi Shaw bring up India's 50. They are looking solid in their chase
Whoa! Does that cover drive remind you of a certain Sachin Tendulkar or what? The elbow coming down swiftly, the MRF logo... Prithvi Shaw can very well be on way to greatness; provided he already isn't that is.
11:11 (IST) Feb 03
The players are back on the field and we have resumed
A spanking square cut from Shaw and India are on the way. 31/0 after 6 overs.
10:40 (IST) Feb 03
Rain stops play with India on 23/0 after 4 overs
Four overs gone and India have begun their reply strongly. But the rain gods aren't being too kind. However, despite the rain being steady, this is expected to be a passing shower, which means that we won't have a lengthy delay.

The prime attraction of those four overs was Manjot Karla's six off a free hit. Zak Evans disturbed the stumps while delivering the ball and he was penalised for it. After a lot of thinking and field placements, he bowled it slow and full. But Kalra gave it a solid tonking and the ball landed deep into the crowd.
10:30 (IST) Feb 03
The Indian openers have made their way to the middle
217 is what separates India from a record fourth Under-19 World Cup title. It might look easy but Australia will make India work for every run.

Australia all out for 216. India need 217 to lift Under-19 World Cup for the fourth time
The last wicket goes down for Australia for 216. And it's been a collapse of sorts. They've lost six wickets for 33 runs. India would be extremely happy with their performance. We'll be back with the chase soon
09:49 (IST) Feb 03
India wrapping things up quickly
Two wickets in an over and India are clearly the side on top. First, a full and straight ball from Nagarkoti sends back Zak Evans and then some terrific piece of fielding has Australia nine down. Excellent pick up and throw from Shiva Singh and Desai quickly disturbs the stumps. Australia 216/9 and into their final pair.
09:40 (IST) Feb 03
OUT! India have broken through again. Australia 212/7
And this time it's the big wicket of Jonathan Merlo for 76. Goes for the reverse sweep and lofts it high in the sky for Shiva Singh to take a catch. With that Anukul Roy becomes the joint-highest wicket-taker with 14 scalps.
09:37 (IST) Feb 03
Five overs remain, Australia 210/6
The boundaries have dried up and there's been plenty of running between the wickets for Australia. Just five more overs to go. What can they conjure?
09:24 (IST) Feb 03
Shiva strikes twice in two overs, Australia lose six
Harvik Desai has really redeemed himself after dropping a chance early in the innings. After taking that superb catch to dismiss Jason Sangha, he's back in action again. Holds on to an inside edge from Will Sutherland. Shiva Singh gets his second of the game. Australia 194/6 in 42 overs.
09:14 (IST) Feb 03
Australia lose fifth wicket
Just what India needed - a wicket coming at an important time. That was a dangerous looking partnership but Shiva Singh breaks it one short of a 50. Full and straight and Nathan McSweeney nicks it back to the bowler. Australia 183/5
09:10 (IST) Feb 03
Tough chance for India
Opening there. McSweeney swings as the ball takes a leading edge and goes in the air. Harvik Desai runs backwards and almost pulls off a stunner.
08:52 (IST) Feb 03
35 gone, Australia 163/4
As it's time for the drinks interval, India will try to use this break to get some strategy going. They aren't in too much of a spot at the moment but this partnership is beginning to develop. What can their bowlers conjure? For Australia, half-centurion Jonathan Merlo will be key
08:37 (IST) Feb 03
50 for Merlo, Australia moving forward
Fine innings this from Jonathan Merlo, brings up his fifty off 60 balls. Australia 151/4 in 31.4 overs
08:27 (IST) Feb 03
OUT! India get a fourth
Three dot balls and Param Uppal returns an easy catch to Anukul Roy. And the best part about this over is that all the deliveries were full in length. Australia 134/4 in 29 overs.
08:12 (IST) Feb 03
Australia rebuilding well
50-run partnership up between Jonathan Marlo and Param Uppal off 68 deliveries; Australia staging a comeback - 110/3 in 23 overs. Too many short balls from Indian spinners and the batsmen are quick to dispatch them towards the point boundary.
08:01 (IST) Feb 03
20 overs gone, Australia are 94/3
A good 38-run partnership between Uppal and Merlo keeping India on their toes.
07:49 (IST) Feb 03
India wrest advantage. Australia 80/3 in 17 overs
The scoring rate that was over 6 has come down to a little over over 4.5. The introduction of spinner Shiva Singh and Kamlesh Nagarkoti has just tied things up a bit. Australia will require Merlo and Uppal to rebuild.
07:29 (IST) Feb 03
Nagarkoti gives India third success
The Indian pacer strikes in his first over. Outside off and Australian skipper Jason Sangha pokes at it and edges it to the keeper. Australia 59/3. Strong comeback from India after conceding early boundaries.
07:20 (IST) Feb 03
OUT! Wicket No. 1 for India. Australia 52/2 after 10 overs
And it's a big one, Jack Edwards was looking good. He perishes for 28 - hits it straight to Kamlesh Nagarkoti at covers - and gives Ishan Porel his second wicket.
07:13 (IST) Feb 03
After getting hit for three boundaries in his previous over, Shivam Mavi comes back strong with a maiden
07:10 (IST) Feb 03
Australia 46/1 after 8
So far so good for Australia, who despite losing their first wicket, haven't hampered the scoring-rate. Still going at over 6 an over.
06:57 (IST) Feb 03
OUT! India get their first wicket in this World Cup final
There've been plenty of shots played in the air already and this time the ball finds the fielder. First strike for India and it's that man again, Ishan Poren. Outside off and Bryant finds Abhishek Sharma point. Australia 32/1 in 5.1 overs. Adrenaline going early for India.
06:53 (IST) Feb 03
India take out their only slip, and the ball flies just where the player would have been. Australia scoring at a healthy rate of over six an over. 32/0 in 5 overs
Ouch, India would consider that a missed opportunity. Three boundaries off the fifth over from Shivam Mavi.
06:46 (IST) Feb 03
Australia begin well
12/0 in three overs. The overcast conditions are having no bearing on just how good the surface is to bat on. A couple of boundaries so far between Jack Edwards and Max Bryant.
06:36 (IST) Feb 03
Mavi starts off with a wide. But there's no Zaheer Khan-like first over
An India-Australia World Cup final and an Indian fast bowler starting off with a wide. Rings a bell? The good thing though is that that was the lone run conceded off that over. The next six balls were right on the money.
06:22 (IST) Feb 03
