India pulled off a sensational eight-wicket win over Australia in the big final of the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup to become the only side in history to lift the coveted title for a record fourth time. A clinical bowling performance by India saw them restrict Australia to 216, a total that Prithvi Shaw and his men gunned down comfortably in the end to etch their name in history books.<br /> <br /> The platform for the big win was laid by, first, the bowlers, who staged a terrific comeback to remove the last six Australian wickets for just 33 runs, and later by opener Manjot Kalra, who struck a 101-ball century to lead India to victory. Kalra got vital partnerships going with each batsman he batted with &ndash; 71 with Shaw, 60 with Shubman Gill and an unbeaten 89 with Harvik Desai and formed the fulcrum around which the chase revolved.

Rain stops play with India on 23/0 after 4 overs

Four overs gone and India have begun their reply strongly. But the rain gods aren't being too kind. However, despite the rain being steady, this is expected to be a passing shower, which means that we won't have a lengthy delay.

The prime attraction of those four overs was Manjot Karla's six off a free hit. Zak Evans disturbed the stumps while delivering the ball and he was penalised for it. After a lot of thinking and field placements, he bowled it slow and full. But Kalra gave it a solid tonking and the ball landed deep into the crowd.

The Indian openers have made their way to the middle

India wrapping things up quickly

Two wickets in an over and India are clearly the side on top. First, a full and straight ball from Nagarkoti sends back Zak Evans and then some terrific piece of fielding has Australia nine down. Excellent pick up and throw from Shiva Singh and Desai quickly disturbs the stumps. Australia 216/9 and into their final pair.

And this time it's the big wicket of Jonathan Merlo for 76. Goes for the reverse sweep and lofts it high in the sky for Shiva Singh to take a catch. With that Anukul Roy becomes the joint-highest wicket-taker with 14 scalps.

The boundaries have dried up and there's been plenty of running between the wickets for Australia. Just five more overs to go. What can they conjure?

Shiva strikes twice in two overs, Australia lose six

Harvik Desai has really redeemed himself after dropping a chance early in the innings. After taking that superb catch to dismiss Jason Sangha, he's back in action again. Holds on to an inside edge from Will Sutherland. Shiva Singh gets his second of the game. Australia 194/6 in 42 overs.

Australia lose fifth wicket

Just what India needed - a wicket coming at an important time. That was a dangerous looking partnership but Shiva Singh breaks it one short of a 50. Full and straight and Nathan McSweeney nicks it back to the bowler. Australia 183/5

Opening there. McSweeney swings as the ball takes a leading edge and goes in the air. Harvik Desai runs backwards and almost pulls off a stunner.

The scoring rate that was over 6 has come down to a little over over 4.5. The introduction of spinner Shiva Singh and Kamlesh Nagarkoti has just tied things up a bit. Australia will require Merlo and Uppal to rebuild.
