The skipper of West Indies Women, Hayley Matthews, says that they would have bowled first as well. Feels that it will be a good wicket to bat on and hopes that they can start well with the bat. Shares that they have a good mix of pacers and spinners. Further says that they have a good batting depth, and she is happy with the balance of the squad. She says that Deandra Dottin is excited to be back, and it is nice to see her back within the group. Mentions that they have had a few camps in the UAE, which has helped them acclimatise to the conditions.

The captain of South Africa Women, Laura Wolvaardt says that they will bowl first. Adds that it's a fresh wicket and the preparation of the team is good. She ends by saying that considering the conditions, they have picked an extra spinner in their side.
