Rinku Singh and Member of Parliament Priya Saroj officially celebrated their engagement in a grand ceremony held on Sunday (June 8) at The Centrum, a luxury hotel in Lucknow. The event, which remained private yet star-studded, marked a memorable union of sports and politics.
Rinku, known for his explosive performances with the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL and for India in T20Is, arrived with his fiancée in coordinated white and pink outfits, their smiles reflecting the joy of the occasion.

Among the attendees were former cricketers Praveen Kumar and Piyush Chawla, UP Ranji captain Aryan Juyal, and key political figures such as SP leader
Akhilesh Yadav, MPs Jaya Bachchan,
Dimple Yadav, and Iqra Hasan.
Congress leader Rajeev Shukla and veteran politician Ram Gopal Yadav also made appearances, underscoring the significance of the event.
The couple exchanged rings on a lavish stage, with a traditional vegetarian feast laid out for guests, blending Awadhi delicacies with global flavours. Security was tight, with barcoded entry passes and a strong police presence ensuring privacy for all high-profile guests.
Reports suggest 15 rooms were reserved at the hotel, five of them exclusively for Rinku’s close circle.
Who is Priya Saroj?
At just 25, Priya Saroj has made a name for herself as one of India’s youngest MPs, representing the Machhlishahr constituency in Uttar Pradesh.
Daughter of seasoned politician Tufani Saroj, she stepped into the political spotlight during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, defeating the BJP’s BP Saroj by over 35,000 votes.
Before entering politics, Priya was a law practitioner. An alumna of Amity University, Noida, she practised at the Supreme Court of India. Despite her political lineage, she initially had no plans to enter public office.
Her relationship with Rinku Singh, rooted in mutual respect and friendship, gradually evolved over the past year.
"Rinku and Priya have known each other for more than a year now. They both liked each other but needed their families' consent for the relationship. Both families have agreed to this marriage," Tufani Saroj stated, as quoted by PTI.
With both families on board, their engagement now marks a union of ambition, youth, and public service.
