NEW DELHI: The West Indies Cricket Board announced the playing eleven for the second Test match against England at Trent Bridge in Nottingham, starting on Thursday. The team remains unchanged from the first Test, with four pacers and two spinners in the lineup, reported ANI.

The West Indies suffered a heavy defeat in the first Test, losing by an innings and 114 runs within three days. England took a commanding lead in the first innings, with five batters scoring half-centuries, amassing a total of 371 runs.

Gus Atkinson's impressive seven-wicket haul helped dismiss the West Indies for a mere 121 on the first day.

In his final game, James Anderson struck first for England, dismissing Joshua Da Silva. However, it was debutant Gus Atkinson who stole the show, claiming a ten-wicket haul and etching his name onto the Lord's honours board - a symbolic passing of the torch.

With a substantial 250-run lead, England's seamers dominated on the second day, reducing the West Indies to six wickets down by stumps.

Atkinson continued to shine, while Anderson set the tone with a brilliant delivery that seamed back in to castle Kraigg Brathwaite. The Three Lions ultimately secured a resounding victory by an innings and 114 runs on Friday.

West Indies (Playing XI): Kraigg Brathwaite (C), Alick Athanaze, Joshua Da Silva (WK), Kavem Hodge, Jason Holder, Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph, Mikyle Louis, Kirk Mckenzie, Gudakesh Motie, and Jayden Seales.
