On the match front, Renegades managed to clinch their maiden BBL title as they defeated city rivals Melbourne Stars in a nail-biting encounter.

Chasing 146 to win, Glenn Maxwell's men were 93 without loss before losing an incredible seven wickets for 19 runs.

Stars finally finished on 132 for seven, losing the first ever all-Melbourne
