Kohli walked in to bat at No. 4 on the second day of the match, with thousands of fans braving the chilly morning to witness the modern-day great in action. However, his stay at the crease was short-lived, lasting only 15 balls before he was clean-bowled by Railways pacer Himanshu Sangwan in the 28th over.

After hitting a crisp boundary in the previous ball, Kohli attempted an off-side drive to a length delivery that swung back sharply. He misjudged the movement, and the ball snuck between his bat and pads, crashing into the off-stump. The sight of Kohli’s off-stump cartwheeling sent Railways players into celebration while leaving the packed stadium stunned.

A visibly disappointed Kohli walked back as some fans, equally dejected, exited the stands prematurely. Delhi, who had started steadily, were reduced to 86 for 3 in 27.4 overs following his dismissal.

Earlier on Day 1, Railways posted 241 in their first innings, with wicketkeeper-batter Upendra Yadav anchoring the innings with a fighting 95 off 177 balls, including 10 fours and a six. Delhi’s bowlers had done well to restrict Railways, but their batting lineup now faced a stern test.

Kohli’s return to domestic cricket was expected to be a boost for Delhi, but his early exit came as a major disappointment. Fans will now hope for a better showing in the second innings as Delhi look to recover and take control of the match.
