Vijay CC, Globe Trotters script easy wins

CHENNAI: Vijay CC and Globe Trotters registered comfortable victories in their Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) First Division Elite League clashes here on Thursday. Vijay CC scored an innings and 49-run win over CromBest. After having bowled them out for 102 in their first innings, Vijay CC went on to score 240 with top contributions from B Aparajith (50), KB Arun Karthik (91) and J Kousik (61 n.o.).Vijay CC then went on to dismiss CromBest for 89 thanks to left-arm spinner Rahil Shah's (6-14) exploits. He was ably supported by teammates Malolan Rangarajan (2-39) and Ajith Ram (2-22).
Globe Trotters got the better of TI Cycles by 5 wickets. Both teams finished on an identical score of 137 in their first essay. In their second innings, Trotters managed to dismiss TI Cycles for a paltry total of 84 with left-arm spinner Monish Satish (7-38) being the wrecker-in-chief. Monish got good support from teammate Washington Sundar (3-32) who finished with match figures of 10 for 83. Chasing a target of 85, Globe Trotters ended on 86 for 5 with C Hari Nishaanth (25) and S Aniruda (27) being the main contributors.
