MUMBAI: Veda Krishnamurthy, Ekta Bist, D Hemlatha, Anuja Patil were dropped, while Shafali Verma and Punam Raut were promoted to Grade B as the BCCI on Wednesday announced its centrally contracted list of women players for the 2020-21 season.

This is another setback for Krishnamurthy, who recently lost her sister and mother to Covid-19. The Karnataka player has not been picked for India’s tour of England in June.

Bengal’s Richa Ghosh has earned a Grade B contract. The list included 22 cricketers the last time, this time it’s 19.

Grade A, which includes limited overs skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana and leggie Poonam Yadav. Test and ODI skipper Mithali Raj continued to be in Grade B.

Grade B: Mithali Raj, Jhulan Goswami, Deepti Sharma, Punam Raut, Rajeshwari Gaekwad, Shafali Verma, Radha Yadav, Shikha Pandey, Taniya Bhatia, Ms Jemimah Rodrigues.

Grade C: Mansi Joshi, Arundhati Reddy, Pooja Vastrakar, Harleen Deol, Priya Punia, Richa Ghosh.
