Patriots hit back when they had Rohit caught at long-off fence by Akshay off Ganesh Moorthi (1-22) in the 9th over, but not before the batsman had added 71 with Arun to set the tone for the chase.
Arun, the leading run-scorer for the side, paced his innings well. He was cautious to start with but once he gauged the wicket, Arun began to open up. Kaushik Gandhi (11, 1x6) missed out as he was caught at deep square-leg region by Rahil Shah in the very second over of the innings, off Abhishek Tanwar. From thereon, No. 3 Anand took centre-stage. He first added 44 for the second wicket with Dinesh before piecing together a 69-run stand for the third alongside Akshay. When Anand was dismissed - caught at deep mid-wicket by Kousik off Abhishek - Patriots were 133 for 3 in the 17th over.
