Washington Sundar (100 n.o.) and Anukul Roy (120 n.o.) played their parts to perfection to help Globe Trotters take the first innings lead over Young Stars in their drawn TNCA first division clash on Tuesday.
Young Stars, who batted first, were bowled out for 218. In reply, Globe Trotters rode the unfinished fourth-wicket stand of 210 between Washington and Anukul to score 322 for 4.
Jalaj Saxena (6-47 for Jolly Rovers), Naushad Shafi Shaikh (153 for MCC) and Parveez Rasool (108 for Grand Slam) were the other notable performers.
Meanwhile, a gritty 91-run seventh-wicket stand between Parth Bhut (51) and No. 8 Karthik Adithya (54 n.o.) helped AG's Office draw their TNCA first division clash against India Pistons on Tuesday.
After scoring 156 in their first innings, India Pistons bowled out their opposition for 95 with left-arm spinner Rajwinder Singh (8 for 45) being the wrecker-in-chief. India Pistons declared their second innings on 165-6. Set a target of 227, AG's Office benefitted from Parth and Karthik's gritty show to finish on 169 for 8.
