'Shreyas Iyer has got away with something smaller, could have been worse': Scientific Astrologer Greenstone Lobo
India’s ODI vice-captain Shreyas Iyer is on the mend in Sydney after suffering a ruptured spleen and rib cage injury during the third ODI against Australia last Saturday.
The 30-year-old sustained the injury while attempting a difficult running catch to dismiss Alex Carey, which resulted in internal bleeding and hospitalisation. After a tense 48 hours in intensive care, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed that Iyer’s condition has stabilised and he is steadily recovering.
While medical reports paint a picture of cautious optimism, scientific astrologer Greenstone Lobo believes that Iyer’s ordeal was written in the stars — and that the worst is behind him.
“Shreyas has a weak Jupiter in his ascendant, which governs the body,” Lobo explained. “When Jupiter gains strength, it can create an opposing force that manifests as injury. Since Jupiter is currently exalted in the ninth house — representing foreign lands — it’s no surprise this happened in Australia.”
Despite the seriousness of the incident, Lobo insists that there’s no long-term cause for concern.
“He’s got away with something smaller; it could have been worse,” Lobo said. “This is just a karmic patch closing out — a pannoti gayi (bad luck is gone) moment. His charts clearly show recovery and resurgence.”
According to Lobo, Pluto’s current transit through Iyer’s third house — which symbolises the mind — may have brought this “unhappy phase,” but its conclusion will mark a new beginning.
“He will bounce back quickly, possibly by the IPL,” Lobo predicted. “This injury won’t affect his skills, focus, or leadership in any way. In fact, he’ll play a major role for India in the 2027 World Cup. Shreyas’s best years are still ahead.”
For now, Iyer remains under observation in Sydney, with both doctors and, it seems, the stars aligned for a full recovery.
