While Dhawan is here for rehabilitation, Vijay will get his injured toe assessed as the selectors prepare to pick the team for the series against West Indies on July 19.

Dhawan, who featured in just two matches, fractured his left thumb during the league match against Australia, after being hit by a rising delivery from pacer Pat Cummins during his match-winning knock of 117 off 109 balls.

Vijay, on the other hand, was struck on the left toe by a yorker from Jasprit Bumrah at the nets and suffered a non-displaced fracture. His World Cup campaign ended with three matches and the duo was replaced by Rishabh Pant and Mayank Agarwal respectively.

Meanwhile, former India skipper Rahul Dravid, who was appointed the Head of Cricket at the NCA earlier this month, will travel with the India U-19 team to England early on Tuesday morning.

The Priyam Garg-led colts will play in the one-day tri-series starting starting on July 21. India will play the U-19 sides from England and Bangladesh in the tournament.

With a relatively fresh batch of U-19 players taking guard, Dravid, who was earlier the India ‘A’ and U-19 coach, is expected to spend some time with the team to assess the youngsters. It is also learnt that Dravid may travel to West Indies, where the India ‘A’ team is currently on tour. India 'A' tour of West Indies began on July 11 with a five-match one-day series which will be followed by three four-day matches.

Dravid’s job profile at the NCA includes mentoring, coaching, training and motivating players, coaches and support staff at the NCA.
