(SBCA) in the
Sharad Bhake Memorial Winter Trophy
U-13 Cricket tournament at Vidya Vihar ground on Saturday.
Opting to bat, DACSA scored 222 in 44.5 overs. Shaurya Kshetrapal played a superb innings of 68, hitting nine boundaries. Devansh Mishra (44, 7x4) and Gunjan Sutane (30, 4x4) were the other notable contributors. For SBCA, Shreyas Joshi claimed a five-wicket haul conceding 45. Kaustubh Bidwai (3 for 34) also bowled well.
Chasing a daunting target, SBCA were restricted to 124 for 7 in 50 overs. Mihir Tikle remained unbeaten on 25. Shreyas Joshi contributed 24, while Somesh Hiwse made 14.
Pratham Maheshwari (3 for 20) was the most successful bowler for the winners. Devansh Thakkar got two for 15. Kshetrapal was declared man-of-the-match.
Earlier, VCA secretary BS Bhatti inaugurated the tournament. Education committee head of NMC Gopal Bohare, Satish Udhoji of Nagpur University Housing Society, SBCA president Sanjay Kali and secretary Gundubhau Joshi were the guests of honour.
Makrand Kulkarni conducted the proceedings. Vijay Vyas, Bhai Upadhyay, Milind Pendharkar, Anant Narale, Sandeep Tokekar, Parag Joshi, Amit Dani, Devendra Gakre, Mukesh Sadavarti, Kartik Shivankar, Shubhankar Deshpanhde and others were present on the occasion.
After the league stage, knock-out matches will begin, said the organizers.
