MUMBAI: Sanjay Naik, who was the secretary of the Mumbai Cricket Association in the last term, is now the vice-president of the MCA. On Friday, Naik, contesting from the Sharad Pawar-Ashish Shelar group, beat former managing committee member Iqbal Shaikh, who was contesting the Mumbai Cricket group, by a convincing margin of 155 votes-the final 'scoreline' being 223-68 -for the post of vice-president in the association.

"I'm very happy. It's a victory of our panel, its reputation and the collective efforts of our group. It's not my victory alone. Our whole group has won with a huge margin," Naik told TOI.

The MCA had conducted its elections on October 20, but the post of Vice-president remained vacant as the elections for it were deferred after all the contesting candidates withdrew their nominations.
