Robin Uthappa in a single over at the Hong Kong Sixes tournament on Saturday.
Bopara, known for his aggressive style, hammered Uthappa for five consecutive sixes, forcing the India skipper to bowl a wide on the final delivery in an attempt to delay the inevitable. Undeterred, the England captain then launched the final ball for another towering six, bringing the total to a staggering 37 runs from Uthappa's over.
The crowd watched in awe as the ball soared over the ropes six times, transforming the atmosphere into one of sheer excitement.
Bopara (53) soon retired after reaching his half-century in just 14 balls, which included eight sixes. Samit Patel also played a crucial innings, smashing 51 runs off just 18 balls. His rapid-fire knock included four boundaries and five massive sixes, taking England's total to 120/1 in six overs.
England’s aggressive batting overwhelmed India, who ultimately fell short by 15 runs. Bopara shone not only with the bat but also with the ball, delivering a disciplined spell to finish with impressive figures of 2/11.
India's journey in the tournament came to a disappointing end as they were eliminated after enduring three consecutive defeats to Pakistan, England, and UAE.
