Punjab Kings co-owner Preity Zinta has filed a legal case against fellow co-directors Mohit Burman and Ness Wadia in a Chandigarh court, challenging the legality of an Extraordinary General Meeting held on April 21. The dispute centres around the meeting's procedures and the appointment of a new director at KPH Dream Cricket Private Limited, which owns the IPL team Punjab Kings.
Zinta claims the meeting was conducted without following proper procedures under the Companies Act, 2013, and other secretarial rules. She had reportedly objected to the meeting through an email on April 10, but her concerns were ignored.

In her legal filing, Zinta has requested the court to declare the meeting invalid and prevent Khanna from acting as a director. She has also asked to stop the implementation of any decisions made during the meeting.
The lawsuit seeks to prevent the company from conducting any board or general meetings without the presence of both Zinta and Karan Paul, and without Muneesh Khanna's involvement, until the case reaches resolution.
Despite the ongoing legal battle, Zinta continues to support Punjab Kings during the IPL 2025 season, where the team has shown impressive performance.
The team, under Shreyas Iyer's leadership, has secured their first playoffs qualification since 2014. They currently hold third place with 17 points from 12 matches and are competing for a top-two finish.
Punjab Kings' remaining league matches include fixtures against Delhi Capitals in Jaipur on May 24 and Mumbai Indians on May 26.
