Sri Lanka A's tour of Pakistan has been cut short due to political unrest in Islamabad. The team will return home before completing their series against Pakistan Shaheens.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed the postponement of the remaining two one-day matches. This decision was made after discussions with Sri Lanka Cricket.
The two teams were originally scheduled to play in Rawalpindi on Wednesday and Friday. Pakistan Shaheens won the first match in Islamabad by a significant margin of 108 runs.
The PCB said the two boards will work together to finalise new dates to complete the series.
The protests in Islamabad, led by Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf party, began on Sunday. The demonstrations involved a march towards the city center.
Reports indicate clashes between protesters and law enforcement. Incidents of violence have also been reported.
Pakistan's Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, who also chairs the PCB, stated that the army has been deployed to restore order.
