Nooshin Al Khadeer will be the interim coach of the Indian women's team for the Bangladesh tour. Nooshin Al Khadeer was the coach of the victorious India U-19 Women's World Cup in South Africa earlier this year. The 42-year-old former India off-spinner was the bowling coach of Gujarat Giants during the inaugural Women's Premier League (WPL).
Apparently, while the
BCCI's three-member Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) has reportedly recommended former domestic stalwart Amol Mazumdar's name for the position of the Indian women's team head coach, the Board will take time over finalising his appointment.
"Post the Bangladesh tour, there's a break of a few months before the Indian women's team plays international cricket. We have time," a Board official told TOI.
The Indian team will leave for Bangladesh on Thursday. NCA coaches Apurva Desai (batting) and Rajib Dutta (bowling) Subhadeep Ghosh (fielding) will also be a part of the Indian women team's support staff during the tour.
