'Meri kursi na chheen le': MS Dhoni was 'scared' of Yuvraj Singh, a 'backstabber' — Yograj Singh
NEW DELHI: Yograj Singh, father of former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, has launched fresh accusations against his son’s former teammates, including Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni, calling them backstabbers. He said that Sachin Tendulkar was Yuvraj’s only genuine friend in cricket, while claiming other players feared losing their place in the team to him.
"As I told you, there are no friends in the sphere of success, money and glory. There were always backstabbers, people who wanted to put you down. People were scared of Yuvraj Singh because they were afraid where he would usurp their seats because he was such a great player created by the God Almighty. He has been the greatest of players, who they were scared – right from MS Dhoni, everybody – 'oh he might take my chair,'" Yograj said.

This is not the first time Yograj has made such remarks about Yuvraj’s former teammates. He has often claimed that his son was pushed into early retirement.
Yuvraj Singh, however, enjoyed a celebrated international career from 2000 to 2017, featuring in 402 matches for India. He scored 11,178 runs at an average of 35.05, with 17 centuries and 71 fifties to his name.
He was instrumental in India’s major title triumphs, being part of the 2002 ICC Champions Trophy, the 2007 ICC T20 World Cup, and the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup.
Yuvraj also became the first Indian to hit six consecutive sixes in an over in international cricket, achieving the feat against England in the 2007 T20 World Cup.
The high point of his career came in the 2011 World Cup, where he was named Player of the Tournament after scoring 362 runs in nine matches, including a century and four half-centuries, alongside 15 wickets.
