NEW DELHI: England's cricket board (ECB) has announced that fast bowler Mark Wood will replace James Anderson in the lineup for the second Test against the West Indies at Trent Bridge.
The rest of the team remains unchanged following their dominant victory by an innings and 114 runs in the first match at Lord's, which concluded within three days.
Wood, who has taken 108 wickets in his 34 Test appearances, makes his return to the England squad after last playing during their tour of India earlier this year.
The 34-year-old's inclusion comes after Anderson's retirement from Test cricket following the first match of the series.
Joining forces with Wood in the pace attack will be Chris Woakes and the impressive debutant Gus Atkinson, who claimed 12 wickets in his first outing for England.
The second Test of the three-match series is set to commence on Thursday at Trent Bridge.
ENGLAND TEAM AGAINST WEST INDIES: Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes (captain), Jamie Smith (wicketkeeper), Chris Woakes, Gus Atkinson, Mark Wood, Shoaib Bashir.
