T20 tournament at SD College Ground in Alappuzha on Tuesday.
Batting first, the Eagles could manage only 142 as left-arm pacer Manu Krishnan 2/21 bowled an incisive spell for Royals. Chasing a modest target the Royals reached the mark in 18 overs as KN Harikrishnan provided the momentum with 36 runs. Krishnaprasad, the highest run-getter in the tournament, was adjudged the man-of-the-match while Abdul Basith, who played for KCA Lions, won the man-of-the-tournament award. Manu Krishnan of Royals took the most wickets in the tournament.
The Presidents Cup was initially planned to be played in November but the rising coronavirus cases in Kerala had forced the KCA to postpone it. Six teams took part in it. Lions,
Tigers
, Panthers, and Tuskers were the four other teams. Teams played each other twice and the top four qualified to the semifinals. In the first semifinal, Eagles beat Lions by six wickets and in the second semifinal, Royals beat Panthers by 79 runs. There were no spectators at the venue but the matches were streamed live exclusively on FanCode.
Brief scores: Eagles 142/8 in 20 overs (MS Akhil 38 (33), S Subin 30 (16); Manu Krishnan 2/21) lost to Royals 144/4 in 18 overs (Krishnaprasad 81 no (55), KN Harikrishnan 36 (31); Basil NP 2/18) by 6 wickets.
