Karnataka U-23 beat TN by five wickets

An unbeaten 86 from Devdutt Padikkal powered Karnataka to a five-wicket win against Tamil Nadu in the BCCI U-23 south zone one-dayers tournament held at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Thursday.

CHENNAI: An unbeaten 86 from Devdutt Padikkal powered Karnataka to a five-wicket win against Tamil Nadu in the BCCI U-23 south zone one-dayers tournament held at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Thursday.
Opting to bat, Tamil Nadu were bowled out for 204 in 49.5 overs with southpaw B Anirudh Sitaram, who smashed a century last match, scoring 45. Wicket-keeper batsman S Lokeshwar scored 35, while Pradosh Ranjan Paul scored 30.
KN Bharath claimed three wickets for 37 runs for Karnataka, with Padikkal (2/25) too chipping in with the ball.

In reply, Padikkal guided the team home with his 135-ball effort. Skipper D Nischal (41) and KL Shrijith (48) made useful contributions to take their team closer to TN's total.
TN leggie M Abhinav took three wickets conceding 37 runs, while left-arm spinner S Mohan Prasath claimed two wickets giving away 30 runs.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad defeated Andhra by five wickets at the SSN College and Kerala beat Goa by 133 runs at the CPT-IP Ground. Hyderabad skipper Tanay Thyagarajan came up with a splendid allround show (4/27 & 56 no) to help Hyderabad win.
