KOLKATA: The
Jharkhand State Cricket Association
(
JSCA
) has decided to put the countrywide lockdown to better use by conducting e-classes for their coaches and support staffs, cutting across all age groups.
Initiated by former
BCCI secretary Amitabh Chaudhary, the sessions are being conducted with a total of 36 coaches and support staffs via Zoom. Chaudhary's initiative had been executed by former association secretary
Debashis Chakraborty
, who made a presentation pertaining to the e-classes to a committee on 9th May.
With BCCI's strength and conditioning coach Rahul Patwardhan roped in for the sessions, Chakraborty sounded elated at the results the interactions have already brought forward.
"For the past several seasons our state teams have qualified for the quarters and the semifinals in various domestic competitions but the final has remained elusive. When the coaches started interacting with each other we identified that mental fatigue was the major reason behind it," said Chakraborty.
"Rahul Patwardhan's inputs will make our coaches and support staffs well equipped to address these matters," he added.
Chakraborty also stated that at the conclusion of the session former Mumbai all-rounder
Abhishek Nayar will be asked to shed light on the issues of mental fatigue and ways to overcome it. "He has played for India and has more than 100
Ranji Trophy games to his name. His inputs will be extremely valuable," said Chakraborty.
The former association secretary also said that they intend to conduct skill-based sessions after the completion of the current e-interactions.
