NEW DELHI: Johannesburg Super Kings displayed a dominant performance, securing a comprehensive nine-wicket victory over Paarl Royals in a one-sided SA20 eliminator clash.
Opting to field first after winning the toss, JSK's bowlers led by Sam Cook (4/24), Nandre Burger (3/26), and Imran Tahir (2/33) orchestrated a superb bowling effort, restricting the Royals to a mere 138 runs in 18.5 overs.
1x1 polls

Cook, making his debut in SA20 cricket as a replacement for the injured Lizaad Williams, made an immediate impact by claiming four crucial wickets, including those of Jos Butler, Mitchell Van Buuren, Codi Yusuf, and Obed Mccoy.

The seasoned campaigner Imran Tahir, aged 44, not only contributed with the ball, picking up two wickets, but also showcased his fielding prowess with a couple of remarkable catches.
In response, Johannesburg Super Kings chased down the target with ease, thanks to explosive half-centuries from skipper Faf du Plessis (55 not out off 34 balls) and opener Leus du Plooy (68 off 43 balls).
Their aggressive batting ensured JSK reached 139 for the loss of just one wicket, with a remarkable 40 balls to spare.

Despite David Miller's resilient 47 runs off 40 balls for Paarl Royals, which included four boundaries and two sixes, the team failed to post a challenging total. Miller's efforts, along with Dane Vilas' contribution, were in vain as JSK's bowlers maintained control throughout the innings.
With this convincing victory, Johannesburg Super Kings advance to the second qualifier, where they are set to face Durban SuperGiants in what promises to be an exciting encounter.
