Jagadeesan ready for new challenge
CHENNAI: Dindigul Dragons' N Jagadeesan is all set to captain the team in the remainder of the third edition of the Tamil Nadu Premier League as regular skipper R Ashwin will be off to England for his international commitments. Jagadeesan, understandably, is excited about it. "I like challenges and love captaincy. I think it's going to be a great challenge for me to showcase my skills as a captain," Jagadeesan told the tournament side after Dindigul registered their second win in the tournament on Wednesday night.
Jagadeesan had a part to play in his side's comfortable victory against Lyca Kovai Kings as he remained unbeaten on 66.

On playing two crucial knocks successively, Jagadeesan said, "It feels really good as it was very important for me. I think I had to take a bit of time in the previous game and it went on well."
Meanwhile, Kovai's Shahrukh Khan who scored a breezy 86 from just 54 deliveries felt a total of 185 was tough to defend on a wicket which was flat. "It is a difficult pitch for defending totals. I think we could have batted better at the death and 15-20 runs extra could have made the difference. 200 is a par total here and we will be aiming for it in our next game," Shahrukh said.
The loss notwithstanding, Shahrukh was looking at the positives. "There are a few positives to take from the game. We batted really well tonight. Akkil Srinaath's unbeaten 54 was a boost for the team. We did make a few mistakes in our bowling but we will definitely work on them and come back stronger in the next game," he said.
