CHENNAI:
Baba Indrajith seems to be mastering the art of scoring runs irrespective of the format he plays in. Just two days after he scored a crisp 109 for India Green in the Duleep Trophy clash against India Red in Dindigul, Indrajith made an unbeaten 115-ball 112 in Jolly Rovers' four-wicket win over Vijay CC in their VA Parthasarathy Trophy clash at the IIT Chemplast Ground here on Tuesday.
Indrajith, who took the late night train from Dindigul and arrived here on Tuesday morning, showed little discomfort in switching gears from a four-day clash to a one-day outing. "It was taxing to arrive on Tuesday morning and straightaway head for a match. But I had to be there as it was a crucial game for us. To be able to play my part in a winning cause is always a good feeling. Right from the start, I felt I was able to middling the ball well and wanted to make full use of it," Indrajith told TOI. Indrajith had scored a crisp 109 in the Duleep Trophy for India Green to kick off his domestic season.
Indrajith believes making use of whatever opportunities he gets is the only way to be in the selectors' radar. "This is a crucial season for me and the aim is to give it my all. I will feature in a couple of more matches for Jolly Rovers in the tournament as my next Duleep Trophy clash is from August 29," Indrajith said. Indrajith, who underwent a shoulder surgery earlier this year, didn't feel he was taking a risk by playing back-to-back games. "I am feeling absolutely fine or else I wouldn't have agreed to it in the first place," he said.
