CHENNAI: The VA Parthasarathy Trophy clash between India Pistons and Young Stars ended in a tie here on Thursday. Taking first strike, Nidhish S Rajagopal (104) and Sanvir Singh (116*) helped India Pistons end on 285/5 from their quota of 50 overs. The centurions added 113 runs from 112 deliveries for the second wicket. In reply, Young Stars rode an unbeaten 100 from 88 deliveries by skipper Adithya Ganesh to finish on 285/7. Others to contribute for Young Stars include R Sathyanarayan (60). For the bowling side, medium-pacer Sharun Kumar shone with the ball, returning with figures of 3/56.In another match, Virat Singh hit 102 to helped MRC ‘A’ register a five-wicket win over TI Cycles. Batting first, TI Cycles rode skipper MUB Sriram’s unbeaten 79 to score 237/3 from their stipulated 50 overs. In reply, MRC ‘A’ crossed the finish line losing five wickets in just 43.2 overs. Apart from Virat, Arpit Vasavada chipped in with an unbeaten 32.Skipper M Kaushik Gandhi (99, 14x4) may have missed out on a well-deserved century by one run, but he helped Jolly Rovers score a comfortable 120-run win over CromBest.
Jolly Rovers posted an imposing 316/5 with Gandhi and B Anirudh Sitaram (79) being the main contributors. They then went on to restrict CromBest to 196 in 49.5 overs.
