MUMBAI: At a time when Indian cricket is recovering from the twin blows of a stunning defeat at the hands of the visiting Australian team in the first Test at Pune followed by the BCCI being hauled up by the ICC for preparing a poor pitch for the game, a good piece of news has emerged.

Rohit Sharma, who has been out of the game for the last three months after being hit by a thigh injury for which he underwent a surgery in London, is all set to make a comeback, for Mumbai in the final two games of the

Vijay Hazare Trophy

in Chennai.

The Mumbaikar, who had suffered the injury while batting during the fifth ODI against New Zealand on October 29, took to Twitter to announce his comeback date for fans.

"Finally done with rehab, Can't wait to play Vijay Hazare on 4th & 6th. Thank you to everyone who helped me get here. Counting down the minutes," the 29-year-old tweeted.

During this period, Rohit missed out on the five-Test series against England, and the limited overs series against the same opponents. Though skipper Virat Kohli has always shown great faith in Rohit's abilities, it remains to be seen if the selectors will name him in the squad for the remaining two Tests against Australia, considering a packed middle-order, where even a triple-centurion like

Karun Nair

has failed to find a spot in the XI.

Meanwhile, in another encouraging development for Mumbai, seamer Dhawal Kulkarni, who has been out of action since the league stage of Ranji Trophy due to a knee injury, too has recovered and will feature alongside Rohit in the final two games.

On Wednesday, the Mumbai selectors made one change to the squad, while adding Rohit and Kulkarni in it. Left-arm spinner Vijay Gohil, who hasn't played any games in the tournament so far, has been replaced by all-rounder Vinayak Bhoir.
